Size equipment from room loads
A mini-split’s capacity should follow calculated heating and cooling loads for the spaces it will serve. An oversized unit can cycle frequently and may not control room conditions as intended; an undersized unit may struggle to meet demand. Zone count and room layout also matter because each indoor head serves a defined area, not automatically every room nearby. The assessment should explain the assumptions behind capacity selection and how the proposed zones map to the rooms.
